Insect Identification
Are you saying, "I'll never learn this insect identification thing?" Well you can. Don't worry, we'll take is slow. Now, let's begin... Hopefully, you're specimen is still in one piece (or else you have great memory). Identifying insects is no easy task. It can take a trained entomologist with a high powered microscope hours to classify certain insects. But through a little practice, you'll be able to use our bug guide and distinguish friend from foe like a pro in no time! Plus, insect identification is tons of fun. Ok, it's time to get started for real.
Scroll down and browse our collections of bugs and spiders. Now, look closely at your catch and match him up with one of the pictures. It doesn't have to be an exact match - just close enough. Short insect descriptions with some characteristics are also available under each set of images. When you think you've found a similar bug click that image. We'll guide you the rest of the way from there. Bug identification is that easy! First, we have to figure out if the little guy is actually an insect and not a spider.
